BARBADOS I WANNA STAY
A story by DENNIS YOUNG
PART 1
From the clear-blue water i gazed over the lazy sea , calm and
inviting in its pre-tense...i stood there transfixed with the beauty
of this eye-land / drink cononut water and watching children
run/fun/play in the cool of the evening... It was getting
late. the sunset had form its splendor over me and i could not move
..the surf of the sea licked at my feet as i was transported towards
the sky....wetting me in anticipation .".oh beauty behold. find me
as i be...awashed in sentiment surrounded by him.".the swagger of
his walk ..the sand meshing between his toes his eyes met mine ,
softening my heart .I turned away..and heard him whistling a song..
a calypso song...i questioned him about the song , as i had heard it
earlier on my radio...it was called Emmerton and its realaxed melody
shaped my day..my mood and my very existence...he asked me if i knew
how to rub-a-dub..someone had taught him this dance in England..and
he loved it.
.So the date was on..De Warehouse..8pm....and as he left , his swagger
stayed with me for the rest of day.....
